Breath of the Spirit

By EdChew

While many of us are preparing to usher in the year 2007 with a great hope for booming days ahead, let us constantly be reminded that the good days that we have been enjoying so far will soon come to an end. I do not wish to sound overtly pessimistic about the world’s economy but there are growing signs of concern that an impending financial tsunami will flood the world soon. Some experts predict that the world would experience an economic collapse far worse than the Great Depression of the 1930's.

The signs? Well, the Chinese central bank is the largest holder of US currency as of to date. They have recently told the U.S. delegation that they no longer have the confidence in the US currency for many reasons. (please google for more infos ) It is estimated that China holds about $1-trillion stash of US dollars and there are growing fears that the Chinese central bank is poised to start liquidating the greenback that will eventually trigger a great tidal wave. The US would definitely not sit and wait for it to happen. They might just dump the greenback and create a new one. Both scenario would likely cause the US to 'sneeze' and the world would catch cold.”

You may think that it is not of concern to an architect. But let me tell you, we don’t make a living like artists do. Architects do not walk where the breath of the spirit blows them! If our client catches cold, who will foot our bill? In the mean time, rejoice while you can and expect the unexpected. Have a great NEW YEAR!
