Many of you may have heard of the term "boutique hotel" but does the name Andrée Putman ring any bells to you? The late Andrée Putman together with her clients, Steven Rubell and Ian Shraeger was largely responsible for introducing a revolutionary concept which at that time went against all conventions of a traditional hotel - Morgans Hotel is considered the first "boutique hotel" when it first opened for business in 1984.
